ABSTRACT

Cavernous hemangiomas are usually seen in vertebral column but they also may present in the calvaria. Besides being benign-slow growing lesions, they may cause some cosmetic problems in the skull. In such cases the lesions are usually located in the frontal or parietal bones. Herein, we report a female case, presented with a palpable mass in the calvaria. She also described a history of head trauma 2 years before admission. Increased size of the lesion had indicated an excision surgery. Although rare, especially in patients with trauma history, cavernous hemangiomas should be recalled beside lipoma, epidermal cysts, scalp hemangiomas and neurofibroma during differential diagnosis.
