Defining Prenatal and Postnatal Ultrasonography Findings in a Patient who had Meconium Peritonitis and Pseudocyst Formation

Meconium peritonitis is a chemical peritonitis resulting from intrauterine of perforation of small bowel.16 years old 32-week gestational age woman referred us for rutin US. In US exami-nation according to gestastional age abdominal circumference significantly big and there was dilated bowel loops that contain particles of meconium. In addition thin-walled, anechoic cys-tic structures observed in the liver anterior. There were significant polihydroamnios. The sur-gical exploration after postnatal was diagnosed as meconium peritonitis and pseudo cyst for-mation due to meconium ileus. However, the general deterioration of the situation gradually get worst and the arrest occurred.
