Spontaneous intrahepatic portosystemic venous shunt is a rare pathology that can be either congeni-tal or acquired, and may cause hepatic encephalopathy. Today, this rare disorder can easily be deter-mined and followed-up using color Doppler ultrasonography, computed tomography, or magnetic resonance imaging. Herein, we present the magnetic resonance imaging findings and clinical data of a 41-year-old male patient presenting with hepatic encephalopathy, due to a spontaneous intrahepatic portosystemic venous shunt.
